What is Pranayma Breathwork?
Pranayama is an ancient yogic therapeutic modality that uses the breath to aid self-awareness, healing, energetic cleansing, and clairvoyance strengthening or developing. Prana means “vital life force” Yama means “gain control”. This technique involves controlling your breath through different sequences, durations, retention, and lengthening of breaths. Pranayama breathing techniques are predominately performed by nasal breathing. Though at times, mouth breathing is utilized, exhaling is always through the nasal cavity. When breathwork therapy is employed, it has the ability to improve respiratory functions while also aiding personal growth. Ultimately, through mastery of this technique the mind and breath become a cohesive unit that can ignite transformative change internally and externally.
